Popular social media platform, Instagram, has announced a slew of new features for Android users.

Instagram’s parent company, Meta, announced in an official blog post that it is adding Notes, Candid Stories, and Group Profiles, giving its users more ways to stay in touch with their friends and family in a variety of formats.

The Instagram ‘Notes’ feature is a new way to express yourself on the platform. Users can share anything they want using text (up to 60 characters) and emojis.

To use the Instagram Notes feature, go to your inbox, choose one of your followers or close friends, and post it. Notes, like Stories, will be visible for 24 hours and displayed on top of your page.’Candid Stories’ is another intriguing feature.

This feature is currently being tested, and it will prompt users to take a picture of what they are doing at the time. Only those who share their own Candid Stories will be able to see the candid images. If you don’t like this feature, you can disable it in Settings. Candid Stories for Facebook will be available soon, according to Meta.

Instagram is also testing a feature called ‘Collaborative Collections,’ which will allow users to connect with friends “over shared interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in your group or 1:1 DMs.” Features that are currently being tested will be available very soon, while others are already available.

Instagram has introduced ‘Group Profiles,’ where users can join and share posts/stories with their friends. This group’s content will only be shared with the group, not with your followers.

By tapping the plus (+) icon and selecting Group Profiles, you can create a new Group Profile. Instagram is also popular.
