Buhari enacts startup bill

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, signed the Nigeria Startup Bill into law.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, after meeting with the president at the State House.

Pantami claims that the Start-Up Law, according to The PUNCH, which was approved on July 20, 2022, was a proposal made by the executive branch with the aim of fostering the development of tech start-ups in Nigeria.

He also said that the regulation will have significant economic advantages and make it easier for young start-ups to recognize and articulate their difficulties.

The new legislation would also create a N10 billion fund for qualified start-ups nationally, according to the minister, who added that the ICT sector contributed 18.42 per cent to the economy in 2022.
