Cash App creator Bob Lee stabbed to death in US

Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App and the chief product officer at MobileCoin, has been killed in a fatal stabbing in San Francisco, USA.

Mr Lee was discovered with life-threatening stab wounds outside a luxury high-rise apartment on the 300 block of Main St, near Rincon Hill and the Bay Bridge, at 2.35 a.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department.

He was taken to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

Bob Lee, 43, was the victim of the stabbing, according to NBC Bay Area. In a statement sent to Bloomberg and ABC7 News, MobileCoin confirmed the information.

Bob Lee worked at Google for the first few years of Android, focusing on core library development, before joining MobileCoin.

He then worked for Jack Dorsey’s Square, which later became Block, to create its Android app. He was the company’s first CTO and the creator of Cash App.

Bob Lee, also known as ‘Crazy Bob,’ was a venture capitalist who invested in companies like SpaceX, Clubhouse, Tile, Figma, Faire, Orchid, Addressable, Nana, Ticket Fairy, Gowalla, Asha, SiPhox, Netswitch, Found, and others.

Following the news, the tech community experienced an outpouring of grief, with former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Figma CEO Dylan reacting to the tragic incident.

There has been no arrest in the case, and the San Francisco Police Department has not released any additional information.
