Estonia's Bolt partners Starship for food delivery with robots

Estonian ride-hailing and food delivery startup Bolt on Wednesday announced a partnership with robotics company Starship Technologies to distribute food across many countries this year with robots.

In Estonia, the UK, and the US, Starship has a fleet of more than 2,000 robots and has made 5 million commercial deliveries.

Through this partnership, Starship will have access to Bolt’s more than 100 million users in 500 cities across 45 countries.

Bolt anticipates that automated delivery will ultimately boost company profitability per delivery.

In 2014 former Skype co-founders launched Starship and self-driving delivery robot tested in London.

Since then, its six-wheel robots have been delivering food, groceries, and other items to customers’ doorsteps in more than 50 service regions.
