Popular instant messaging app from Meta, WhatsApp, has introduced a new feature that allows users to silence incoming calls from unknown contacts.
This feature provides a convenient way to avoid disturbances caused by spam calls or calls from numbers not saved in your contact list.
This article will guide you through the steps to silence these unwanted calls on WhatsApp for both Android and iOS.
Open WhatsApp on your smartphone
Launch the WhatsApp application on your mobile device.
Access the ‘Settings’ menu
For Android users, tap on the three-dot icon located at the top right corner of the screen. iPhone users can select the gear icon, usually found at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Choose the ‘Privacy’ option
Scroll down and select the ‘Privacy’ option from the settings menu.
Navigate to the ‘Calls’ tab
Within the ‘Privacy’ section, locate and tap on the ‘Calls’ tab.
Enable ‘Silence Unknown Calls’
In the ‘Calls’ tab, you will find the option to enable the toggle for ‘Silence Unknown Calls’. Activate this toggle to silence incoming calls from unknown contacts.
Note: You will still receive these calls, but they will not ring, preventing any disturbances caused by unwanted calls. You will receive a notification for missed calls from unknown numbers.
