Chief Executive Officer of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed on Tuesday that the business is releasing new tools that would make it easier for users to discover and personalise Facebook Reels suggestions.

The platform is introducing new personalization settings for reels that will allow users to choose what they want to see more of or less of.

When you see a Reel, hit the three-dot menu at the bottom of the video player and choose “Show More” or “Show Less.”

This option will begin to appear at the bottom of Reels as well as films in the Watch feed.

If you click the “Show More” button on a Reel, Facebook will temporarily boost its ranking score and the ranking score of Reels that like it. Selecting the “Show Less” option will temporarily reduce the number of items displayed.

The Show More and Show Less buttons were originally added to Facebook’s normal postings.

In addition, Facebook is introducing new labels on the Reels video player to clarify why you’re seeing a specific reel.

Furthermore, Facebook is making it easier for users to find relevant Reels by adding Reels to the main navigation at the top of Facebook Watch, giving users quick access to short-form videos.

Users will also be able to navigate between Reels and long-form videos when watching videos on Facebook.

The announcement on Tuesday comes just a few weeks after Meta announced support for longer Facebook Reels of up to 90 seconds, as well as some new creative tools, such as a new templates feature that allows users to construct Reels using trending themes.
