Meta platform, Instagram planning to launch a text-based app that will compete with Twitter by June.
According to a Friday report by Bloomberg News, Facebook’s parent firm is testing the app with influencers and certain creators.
According to Alex Heath, a Verge reporter, in a newsletter, Meta has been contacting talent agencies and celebrities to assess their interest in trying an early version of the app, which will be connected with Instagram.
“The decentralized app is built on the back of Instagram but will be compatible with some other apps like Mastodon,” Lia Haberman, who teaches social and influencer marketing at UCLA in California said in his newsletter.
