Microsoft partners Cohesity for protection against cyber attacks

Microsoft has expanded its relationship with the data management company, Cohesity to further protect businesses from cybersecurity and ransomware threats for both companies.

Sanjay Poonen, CEO and president of Cohesity in reaction to the new partnership with Microsoft said, “Cohesity is integrating with Microsoft’s broad platforms across security, cloud, and AI — all in order to help joint customers secure and protect their data against escalating cyberattacks,”

Cohesity will be able to provide more intelligent, reliable, and secure data management services to business users by integrating Microsoft’s cloud and AI services.

The company did not reveal much information about the AI integration, but it did welcome the public.

Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft’s cloud-native Security Information and Event Management solution, is being integrated into Cohesity’s DataProtect backup and recovery solution.

According to the release, the combination of both will provide users with access to both incident reporting and ransomware alerts.

Furthermore, Cohesity’s integration with Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory will allow users to access and manage Cohesity products such as Cohesity Data Cloud and Cohesity Cloud Services securely.

Microsoft is also incorporating Cohesity’s services in order to improve its platforms.

Cohesity’s cloud services, including live demos and product previews of Cohesity FortKnox, the company’s SaaS cyber vaulting service, are now available on Azure.
