OpenAI offer users up to $20000 for reporting bugs

OpenAI, the company behind the viral chatbot ChatGPT, announced on Tuesday that the company will pay up to $20,000 to users who report vulnerabilities in its artificial intelligence systems.

The OpenAI Bug Bounty programme, which launched on Tuesday, will reward people based on the severity of bugs they report, with rewards starting at $200 per vulnerability.

OpenAI has invited researchers to review certain functionality of ChatGPT as well as the framework of how OpenAI systems communicate and share data with third-party applications, according to details on bug bounty platform Bugcrowd.

The programme contains no incorrect or malicious content generated by OpenAI systems.

The move comes after ChatGPT was banned in Italy for allegedly violating privacy rules, prompting regulators in other European countries to investigate generative technologies.
