OpenAI, the startup behind the AI chatbot, ChatGPT announced on Thursday the release of the ChatGPT iOS app.

According to OpenAI, the ChatGPT software is free to use and will sync history across devices.

“ChatGPT Plus subscribers get exclusive access to GPT-4’s capabilities, early access to features and faster response times, all on iOS,” the company added.

GPT-4 is a sophisticated artificial intelligence model that replaces the technology that underpins the enormously successful ChatGPT.

Earlier in February OpenAI announced a $20-per-month test subscription package for its popular AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT Plus.

The company stated that it will begin rolling out iOS in the United States and will spread to other countries in a few weeks.

The public competition for dominance in the AI technology area began late last year with the debut of ChatGPT, prompting industry titans ranging from Alphabet Inc to Meta to promote their own solutions.
