Short video platform, TikTok is launching a new feed dedicated to STEM content.
The company announced on Tuesday that is in honour of Pi Day.
The feed, which will appear alongside the “Following” and “For You” feeds, is dedicated to explore videos about science, technology, engineering and maths.
The STEM feed will be rolled out to users in the U.S. in a few weeks.
This is part of TikTok’s plan to test topic feeds in different market regions.
Topic feeds explores content across categories like Gaming, Food, Fashion and Sports.
The company says STEM-related hashtags have received over 110 billion views so far.
The feed is designed for people who want to dive into technology and learn about technology.
“Whether encouraging aspiring scientists to work out experiments in comments sections or helping a new programmer learn to code, the STEM feed provides a space for co-learning, inspiration, and enrichment,” the company said in a blog post.
This new launch is in partnership with Common Sense Networks and Poynter to bring high-quality STEM content to users. The videos will be assessed by Common Sense Networks will assess before it’s eligible to be on TikTok.
YouTube has the feature that allows users to follow topics in its homepage, allowing users to find content that they’re interested in.
