YouTube Music unveils custom radio feature for users

YouTube Music’s newest feature, a new radio feature will let users design their own unique stations

Users used to begin their music listening experiences by selecting from existing playlists, radios, or albums before the release of this feature, but now users can build their own radios from the ground up.

While setting up your own radio station using this unique experience, you can choose from up to 30 artists.

Also, you can modify the station’s mood by applying filters and deciding how frequently certain artists perform.

You can decide whether you want content from a wider range of related artists as well, or whether you only want the radio to play music from the musicians you’ve chosen.

You may even further limit your results by selecting particular criteria, like “new discoveries” or “chill songs.”

The ability to construct playlists based on a particular song or artist is provided by radio capabilities on well-known music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, but further customization is not provided.

Users have a lot more control over YouTube Music’s revamped radio experience than they have with its rivals.

“With this new radio functionality, we’re flipping that model on its head, empowering users to create their own radios from the ground up, by combining key music building blocks such as artists and common music descriptors,” the company said in an email.

“The result is giving users a lot more control over their music listening experiences, and allowing them to slice their music in many ways currently unavailable to them, on YouTube Music or really any music service.”

You must go to the YouTube Music homepage, scroll down until you find “Your music tuner,” and then click on it to activate the feature. In all nations where YouTube Music is accessible to both free and premium users, the new experience is being rolled out on iOS and Android.
