Apple Inc will lay off some employees in a small number of roles within its corporate retail teams, according to Bloomberg News

The layoffs would affect what Apple refers to as its development and preservation teams, according to the report, which added that the number of positions eliminated could not be determined and was likely very small.

Concerns about an economic downturn caused by rising interest rates have prompted a wave of mass layoffs across corporate America in recent months.

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, announced last month that it would lay off 10,000 employees this year, making it the first big tech company to cut jobs, with Amazon following.
