Meta, Facebook’s parent company has disclosed by the start of June, Facebook Messenger software for the Apple Watch will stop working.

“People can still receive Messenger notifications on their Apple Watch when paired, but starting at the beginning of June they will no longer be able to respond from their watch,” a Meta spokesperson said.

Some users have also gotten a notice informing them that Messenger would no longer be accessible as an Apple Watch app after May 31.

The announcement comes just one day after the company disclosed that WhatsApp, another Meta-owned messaging platform, will be available as a Wear OS app.
