Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday launched a tool that uses OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 generative artificial intelligence model to help cybersecurity professionals identify breaches, threat signals, and better analyse data.

The “Security Copilot” tool is a simple prompt box that will assist security analysts with tasks such as incident summarization, vulnerability analysis, and sharing information with coworkers on a pinboard.

The assistant will make use of Microsoft’s security-specific model, which the company describes as “a growing set of security-specific skills” that are fed over 65 trillion signals per day.

The announcement comes amid announcements by Microsoft to integrate AI into its products.
