Snapchat is testing a feature that will only permit users to interrupt one streak for free.

For many Snapchat users, keeping up with Snap Streaks—where you send a snap to your pal once every 24 hours—is highly crucial.

In order to capitalize on that reality, the firm now gives users the option to pause their Snap streaks, ensuring that they won’t be broken if they decide to stop using the app for a while.

As of today, we’re making it simpler to take a break with a new tool we’re testing to enable you to reignite the flame and restore one streak for free with just one tap, the firm said in a statement. “A lost streak doesn’t mean your friendship has gone cold,” it added.

Users will have “the option to add more streak restores right from the app,” according to the business, and each pause will cost 99c in the US.

Moreover, Snap indicated that it would soon give Snapchat+ users the option to freeze streaks. In essence, streak maintenance will cost money either way.

The social network’s paid plan received a chatbot powered by OpenAI’s GPT technology last month.

Snap announced that it currently has more than 750 million monthly active users and more than 2.5 million paid subscribers during its Investor Day event in February.

It also released announcements for developers and creators at the same time.

The business claimed to be delivering ray tracing technology to let developers create lenses.
