Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, has revealed why he is buying the social media platform, Twitter.

Musk on Tuesday offered to move forward with a deal to buy Twitter at the price he proposed months ago before attempting to call it off.

Responding to a comment from one of his followers who said it would have been better for him to start a new social media platform said he is buying Twitter to fast-track the creation of another social app named ‘X’.

“Twitter probably accelerates X by 3 to 5 years, but I could be wrong,” he said.

Musk had tried for months to get out of the deal he signed in April to buy Twitter. Soon after, he started to have buyer’s remorse. He said that Twitter had lied to him about how many people used it and how common automated accounts called “bots” were.
